Ein weitere Vorteil von Produkten aus Deutschland ist, das vom Gesetzgeber keine Backdoors oder Generalschlüssel vorausgesetzt werden. Dieser Vorzug schütz nicht nur vor staatlicher Willkür, sondern kann auch das Risiko für Wirtschaftspionage reduzieren. Großes Update von abylon BASIC, abylon SHAREDDRIVE und abylon ENTERPRISE Seit Anfang Februar 2008 stehen die Softwareprodukte abylon BASIC, abylon ENTERPRISE und abylon SHAREDDRIVE in der Version 7.0 zur Verfügung, welche für 30 Tage kostenlos getestet werden können. Mit abylon BASIC werden Dateien im Datei Explorer mit Passwort- oder Zertifikatsschutz verschlüsselt oder nach PKCS signiert. Mit der Software abylon SHAREDDIRVE lassen sich verschlüsselte Dateiablagen anlegen, auf die auch mehrere Anwender gleichzeitig im Netzwerk zugreifen können. Die Security-Suite abylon ENTERPRISE für den professionellen Einsatz beinhaltet das komplette Sicherheitspacket, dass alle Einzelmodule komfortable zusammenfügt. Neue Anti-Keyloggerfunktionen PasswordScrambler und Bild-Eingabe Die beiden neuen Funktionen \"PasswortScrambler\" und \"Bildeingabe\" erhöhen die Sicherheit bei der Eingabe von Passwörtern in die entsprechenden Passwortfelder. Beim \"Passwortscrambler\" werden zufällige Zeichen in unregelmäßigen Abständen an das Passwortfeld gesendet und auch wieder gelöscht. Bei der \"Bild-Eingabe\" werden die Zeichen nicht über die Tastatur eingegeben, sondern mit der Maus ausgewählt. Dabei handelt es sich um Sequenzen von Zeichen. Mit der Kombination diesen beiden Funktionen wird die Passworteingabe entscheidend sicherer und bösartige Software (z. B. Keylogger) haben das Nachsehen. Weitere Neuigkeiten Als zusätzliche Neuerung wird bei allen Softwareprodukten ein automatisches Update angeboten, damit bei Neuerungen und Patches die Software immer auf dem neusten Stand bleibt. Die automatische Funktion lässt sich deaktivieren und das Update manuell aufrufen. Neu ist auch das 4Augen-System, bei dem der Zugang durch 2 Passwörter gesichert ist, welche hintereinander eingegeben werden müssen. Zusätzlich bietet die Software eine verbesserte Administration für Unternehmen. Einstellungsdaten lassen sich in der Registry, im lokalen Netzwerk oder einem Webserver hinterlegen.
