Toronto, Canada - GAO RFID Asset Tracking (www.GAORFIDAssetTracking.com) has launched this Gen2 RFID reader/writer with built-in antenna. It is an all-in-one device which has diversified features including digital signal management, I/O ports, built-in antenna (gain adjustable) and RS-232, Wiegand, and RS485 interfaces. The RFID reader/writer is used in such applications as warehousing, parking systems, distribution, shop floor, harsh manufacturing or processing environments and outdoors. It is also an ideal solution for applications where no host PC is connected.

This Gen 2 RFID reader/writer with built-in antenna, model 216002, operates over a frequency range of 860 to 960 MHz. It provides such tag identification modes as timer, external trigger, and software trigger at a tag identification speed of less than 8 ms. The reader/writer allows for multi-detection and reads tags at distances of up to 4 m depending on the RFID tags used. Equipped with a nonvolatile memory chip, the plastic encapsulated RFID reader/writer stores the tag IDs in case the communication between the host (PC) and the device is broken off. Users can input tag information in advance and the device will automatically compare each of the new incoming tags with the database for the next action. It is compliant with RoHS, CE, FCC, EPC Gen2 Certification, ISO 18000-6B. In addition, the reader/writer has a built-in timing oscillator which provides time stamping during reading.
