V.27ter Fax Software
Toronto, Canada – GAO Research Inc. (www.GAOResearch.com) is offering its V.27ter fax modem software. It implements the ITU-T V.27ter fax recommendation which incorporates a modem operating at either 4800 bps or 2400 bps. It is commonly used in the general switched telephone network. This fax modem software can also be integrated with other data modems; telephony, speech compression, and fax relay solutions for use in various applications such as communications and telecom.
This fax modem software consists of transmitting functions and receiving functions which are called to transmit and receive bits in groups of 2 or 3 (referred to as symbols) at a rate of 1200 or 1600 symbols per second respectively. It is highly optimized in C and multi-channel ready. It uses the Group 3 facsimile (G3 fax) modulation scheme for fax image transfer. It also features optional backward channel at modulation rates of up to 75 symbols per second. In addition, this fax software can operate within a multi-tasking environment or as a stand-alone task and is optimized for fixed-point arithmetic.
This V.27ter fax software belongs to GAO’s family of Fax Software. Other products in the family are V.17, V.29 and V.34 fax software whose maximum bit rates are 14.4, 9.6 and 33.6 kbps. The family also includes T.30/T.30E and T.4 fax modem protocols.
