Hobart, Tasmania - August, 10 2011 - Do you find yourself regularly cutting and pasting information from incoming email sales notifications into a database in order to keep track of your customers. Maybe you are compiling the results of an email survey, tracking the answers via a database. Or maybe, you simply want the ability to automatically respond to formatted emails that request information about your products or services. All of these time consuming and error prone tasks can easily be automated with email@Scanner.
email@Scanner is a Macintosh email data extraction utility that will parse email messages from either an email server (POP3 or IMAP), email files on your hard drive or one of several Macintosh email clients, selecting only those that satisfy given selection criteria. Data may then be extracted from anywhere within the selected email and may be further refined via the use of data filters and/or user-defined data manipulation scripts. The resulting data may then be used to read or update a FileMaker or any ODBC compliant database. An optional 'notification' email may then be constructed from a template message merged with data from the email and/or the associated database record and sent immediately or queued for later transmission. Finally, upon successful processing of all email an external AppleScript or application may be executed thus enabling any user defined post processing. email@Scanner is a freeware/shareware product. The application's basic functionality is free, simply download the application and use without restriction. However, the application contains additional functionality that permits a more sophisticated level of processing but these features are only available upon the payment of a yearly subscription of US$35 (for each subscription received a third of the fee will be donated to World Vision Australia). This can be done in real-time from directly within the application. All upgrades to the application are free.
The completely rewritten, version 2 of email@Scanner further extends and simplifies the task of extracting and organizing data from a variety of email sources.
B&b Software is a small shareware company, based in Tasmania, Australia that specialises in Macintosh software. We produce shareware products that, to date have specialised in extending the functionality of FileMaker Pro, the popular database application.
