This advanced SDH/PDH transmission analyzer, model A0020005, has electrical and optical interfaces. It performs on-line and off-line tests of T1, E1 (2048 kbit/s), E2 (8448 kbit/s), E3 (34368 kbit/s), E4 (139264 kbit/s), DS1 (1544 kbit/s), DS3 (44736 kbit/s), STM-1 (155520 kbit/s), STM-4 (622080 kbit/s), and STM-16 (2488.320 Mbit/s). It also conducts pulse mask analysis, overhead analysis, point analysis and anomaly/defect analysis as well as bit error rate (BER) testing.

This portable analyzer evaluates and analyzes results according to ITU-T G.821, G.826, G.828, G.829, M.2100 and M.2101. Its various functions also include automatic tributary scanning, automatic protection switching (APS), round trip delay measurement, TCM serial monitoring, timing and synchronization testing and real-time optical power testing.

In addition, this analyzer has a large memory capacity to record bit error and alarm events that can be displayed in charts and graphics. Test results can be saved as HTML or TXT format or uploaded to PC for further analysis, reporting and printing.

This versatile SDH/PDH transmission analyzer belongs to GAO’s family of Datacom Analyzer. The family of testers also includes GAO A0020003, GAO A0020004 and GAO A0020006. The analyzers are very popular among telecom test engineers as a result of its functionality, portability and high performance.
